bittersweet moments...

The other night Makenna was laying in my lap falling asleep. I placed my hand on her head and rubbed her forehead with my thumb. She then held my hand that was rubbing her and she fell asleep. When she did that, I was taken back to when she was a baby, and I would always rub her forehead when it was bedtime, and she would fall asleep so fast. I remember how she would take her left hand and put it on top of mine and hold it while I was rubbing her head. I missed that. I'mnot sure I can even describe the feeling I had the other night, but it was nice to know that even though 6 years have passed, it was like she was my little baby all over again. I miss that baby stage, and it hurts to know that I won't ever have it again.

school's out for summer!

I took makenna out of school early and we went to McDonalds. Then we went to the rec center pool for a fun day of swimming. 4 of her little girlfriends from school met us there and they had good time. And I had a nice time chatting with the grown-ups! LOL

wanted to update blog real quick for Zac to show him some pictures I took of Makenna today for her kindergarten graduation. I will give some thoughtful, witty commentary later! LOL!

another day done

Well, today was pretty much uneventful. Went with mom to Destin and ran to Michaels. Makenna wanted to start her own scrapbook, so I got her a few sheets of paper and a book of stickers. She kept pressing me for more stickers, or more paper, and she would add... "But this is for daddy!" Uh, yeah. Not falling for that one, kiddo! But she looked so darn cute trying!

Then we ran over to Eglin BX and got a replacement blade for Zac's shaver. Called his mom and talked for a bit, then got settled in to watch DH & GA. Man I love those shows.

That's it. I told you it was uneventful.

My gardenias are blooming

OOOOh, I love the sound of thunder. Apparently it rained at the house while I was at Walmart this morning. That's good. We could use it. My gardenia bushes are finally blooming! I was so happy when I saw them this morning. That has to be one of my favorite flowers. They have the most wonderful scent. The hydrangea I snagged off someone who was clearing out his flower bed area (and setting by the road) looks beautiful. It's starting to bloom as well.

It looks like it might rain again... yep, here it comes! I love days like today.

sweet justice

I was driving back from lunch with Erin and this idiot rode my ass and veering in and out of traffic like a speed demon. I shook my head and prayed that a cop was sitting up ahead. My prayers were answered! Awwww... it was sweet justice when I saw her pulled over and those blue lights blaring for all to see. I hate idiot drivers like that.

Speaking of lunch. I went to Ruby Tuesday. I stayed strong and resisted the Queso dip that Zac and I love so much! I went straight to the salad bar, and ordered the Smart Eating Chicken. Yeah me! I was so proud of myself. And the big kicker is I ordered a water, no soda. Zac would be surprised and impressed I think.

It's really not that big of a surprise to me. I mean, I have been eating good and exercising hard. I want this so bad! I have already lost 7lbs. I can't wait till I reach my short term goal.

I need to figure out why I am always so exhausted around 2pm everyday. Sometimes I fall asleep on the couch before Makenna gets home from school.

what a wasted morning!

I went and worked out with Erin at 9am. Right after that I went to go get my nails filled. What does that take- usually 20 minutes? I arrived at 9:50, I didn't leave till 12:35. I was so pissed. O.M.G! And he still did a shitty ass job. I know he was sick (allergies), but still! He kept forgetting to complete steps, and plain out did a crappy job. Thanks for letting me vent!
