makenna's new best friend

My mom is getting a puppy. It is so stinking cute! Of course, she says Makenna is supposed to help her take care of the puppy and watch her for her sometimes. Makenna is so excited, and she constantly asks me when she can keep it. (Secretly, I am excited too because this dog is supposed to be a lap dog, and frankly, my cat isn't that lovable). Look at how sweet that face is! Not sure what my mom is going to name her.

Speaking of the cat, it's amazing to see how tolerant she has become to Makenna. But I have to say, Makenna really hasn't given her any other choice! But now, Asia will stay put and "get it over with" as I say and let Makenna pet her. Which is good, because the cat and Makenna together is my biggest aggravator when they are both home together. (Makenna never leaves the cat alone and I have to hear Asia meow constantly!) I am dreading the arguments we will surely have this summer!

just believe

I was sorting through an old box today that was stored in the garage. Among the contents were various pictures of my past, old memorabilia, certificates, etc... some as old as 1975. What nostalgia! But one of the things that sort of jumped out at me almost seemed like it was placed there by a higher power meant for my eyes to see today. I have no idea where I got it, but it is very fitting right now for my life. Not sure if the words can be read, but this is what it says:

Believe in yourself- and the power you have to control your own life, day by day.

Believe in the strength that you have deep inside, and your faith will help show you the way.

Believe in tomorrow and what it will bring- let a hopeful heart carry you through-

For things will work out if you trust and believe there's no limit to what you can do!

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

Those people who know me know I am in a difficult place in my life right now, and these words meant a lot to me today.

Someone PLEASE slap a reminder sticky on my forehead every day so I can remember to update this stupid blog!!

A lot going on with me lately, but one of the highlights is M finally lost her top tooth. That thing has been loose for what seems like a century! This is the same tooth that caused her to cry for two solid hours one Sunday afternoon while we tried to coax her into pulling it. OMG what agony!! I wanted to pull my hair out I was so frustrated. Anyway, she decides Thursday to get it out.

Guess what this bad mom forgot to do? Remind the tooth fairy, because she forgot to visit the house that night. M was so disappointed. I made up some story about how the tooth fairy was probably so busy and didn't have any more room in her bag to get her tooth, so she would probably come tonight. I felt terrible!! But isn't she cute in that picture with no front teeth? LOL!
